Worldwide leader in the manufacture of heavy mobile machinery has a job opening for a Mechanical Engineering Technician. Qualified applicants will have an associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or related field) from an accredited school. Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required. Customer service and project management experience are a plus. The candidate should have a collaborative work style with the ability to work independently. The job will be in Huntington, West Virginia.

 

Minimum Requirements:

• Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or related field)

• Competency to perform job functions through educational experience 

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

• Experience with AS400, MS Office Suite, Solid Edge, Automation Studio, Zuken (or related 3D/2D CAD software)

• Willingness to learn different computer programs

• Knowledgeable of engineering concepts within manufacturing processes

• Strong communication, presentation and project management skills

 

Job Duties will include:

• Non-structural mechanical assemblies/systems design

• Detailing component specifications

• Support of production assembly documentation

• Wiring harness routing and/or hydraulic hose routing related to heavy equipment design

• Communicating effectively with other departments to complete timely ordering and component design

• Other duties as assigned.

Potential candidates must have technical writing experience, the ability to use and work with multiple computer programs and be able to work as both a team and independently.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Required;

• 1-2 years’ experience as a technical writer (or equivalent)

• Proficient with Microsoft Word programs: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc

 

Preferred:

• Knowledge of TeamCenter/SolidEdge, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop Elements and Microsoft Publisher.

• Associates Degree in related field

 

Job duties will include:

• Reviewing Bills of Materials, Production Orders, electrical schematics, and hydraulic circuits, and observe machines being built to aid in generating Parts Catalogs.

• Contacting vendors to gather information for Parts Catalogs.

• Working in TeamCenter and SolidEdge to generate part numbers and obtain images.

• Taking photos of machines as they are being built.

• Using SolidEdge to create drawings.

• Reading and understanding basic engineering drawings (mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical).

• Additional duties as assigned.
